Description

Heritage Pointe is looking for a Part Time Life Enrichment Assistant to join our great team!  Heritage Pointe is a Assisted and Memory Support Senior Living Community in West Omaha, Nebraska. We are looking for someone who wants to make a difference in our residents lives each and everyday! 

This has flexible hours for about 24 hours a week. The right person must be able to conduct one on one activites with residents, make deliveries to residents apartments, help/oversee family chats. 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: 

Assist Life Enrichment Director to:

  1. Organize, schedule, prepare, inform and transport residents to all activities.  Also responsible for returning room to original arrangement.
  1. Prepare monthly activity calendar for monthly newsletter and submit to office by deadline.  Write daily activities on bulletin boards, posting them as far in advance as possible.
  1. Interview each new resident for talents, hobbies and interests and schedule activities according to majority interest and individual preferences when possible.  Communicate resident information to Director of Healthcare and Executive Director as needed.
  1. Generate a variety of contacts and resources to ensure variety in the community’s activity program (i.e. outside entertainers, inter-generational groups, etc.).
  1. Promote activities to residents, families and the community.
  1. Organize a monthly resident council for the community residents.  Report council meeting minutes to Executive Director.
  1. Assist with community newsletter.
  1. Decorate the community for holidays/theme days.
  1. Create and maintain bulletin boards for resident and family information throughout the community.
  1. Promote community and resident involvement in local organizations and projects.
  1. Responsible for preparing popcorn, ordering supplies and maintenance of popcorn ordering supplies and maintenance of popcorn machine.
  1. Assist the Life Enrichment Director in any duties assigned.
  1. Work schedule will be determined by activity needs and requests of residents, families and Executive Director.
     14. Will also assist with driving residents to and from different events or outings. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Prefer prior experience in related health care field, retirement living, and/or activity development.
  2. Must have a valid driver’s license.
  3. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and work cooperatively with others.
  4. Must be computer literate.
  5. Must be able to bend, stoop and lift up to 25 pounds intermittently throughout the workday, both inside and outside of the community.
  6. Must possess sight/hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so those requirements of the position can be met.
  7. Must be in good general health and demonstrate stability in order to cope with mental and emotional stress of the position.
